Reflective Supervision in Education
Reflective supervision is a dedicated space for school leaders and staff to process the emotional demands of daily school life. The reflective sessions restore balance, strengthen resilience, and ensure the role remains sustainable—so individuals can thrive, and schools can flourish.
One-to-One Reflective Supervision
A dedicated space that meets you where you are, offering tailored support for your growth, well-being, and practice. In supervision, you can:
Process the emotional demands of your role in a safe, supportive space.
Strengthen your skills and practice, staying grounded in your values.
Reconnect with your purpose, sustaining your role with clarity and resilience.
This personalised approach restores balance and builds lasting capacity, helping educators lead and teach with purpose while sustaining themselves in the role.
Group Supervision
A collaborative, energising space for educators in frontline roles—Safeguarding Leads, Pastoral Leads, SENCOs, and EYFS staff. In group supervision, you can:
Share experiences and strategies, reducing isolation.
Learn from diverse perspectives, building collective insight.
Strengthen resilience together, sustaining staff and school culture.
Group supervision nurtures community, clarity, and shared responsibility—helping schools remain resilient and united in the face of daily challenges.
Support for Schools and Families
With leadership experience and SEND expertise, this service strengthens schools by supporting staff, families, and systems around children. We offer:
Supervision for new leaders (e.g. SENCOs), supporting growth and sustainability.
Consultancy and training in SEND, shaping both strategic and operational practice.
Support for families navigating EHCPs and the wider SEND system.
Together, these approaches create stronger schools, more confident staff, supported families, and better outcomes for children.
What Is Reflective Supervision in Education?
Supervision is an intentional pause — a space to reflect, restore, and recharge. It is where educators come not just to think, but to feel, to unravel the knots of their day-to-day practice, and to reconnect with their purpose. Within the safety of a trusted supervisory relationship, we attend to the educator, the learner, and the living systems they move within. This is a space of resonance — where challenges are named with compassion, growth is nurtured with intention, and the heart of teaching is held with care.
Who Is Supervision For?
Supervision is for every educator who carries the weight of responsibility for others—often quietly, often tirelessly. It supports headteachers leading complex school communities with vision and care; pastoral leads holding the unspoken stories of students beyond the classroom walls; SENCOs navigating layered needs with unwavering compassion; Designated Safeguarding Leads making difficult decisions while shouldering heavy truths. Supervision is equally important for class teachers, especially those working with vulnerable children, who face daily challenges with care, learning, and emotional resilience.
Supervision provides a vital space for educators to process their experiences, be truly heard, and feel supported—helping them sustain their passion, integrity, and well-being as they continue to make a difference.
How it works
Supervision begins when you take a moment to pause and bring what’s in your heart and mind into a safe, confidential space. Whether it’s a challenging moment in the classroom, a difficult conversation with a colleague, or simply a need to make sense of the complex demands you face, supervision offers a place to bring these experiences forward without judgment.
Together with your supervisor, you’ll explore these stories and feelings, reflecting on what’s beneath the surface—your hopes, struggles, values, and strengths. The supervisor listens deeply, offering both support and gentle challenge to help you see new possibilities and build confidence.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with renewed clarity and practical steps to carry you forward. It’s a space to restore your energy, deepen your understanding, and reconnect with the purpose that brought you into education in the first place.
Supervision isn’t a one-off event — it’s an ongoing relationship, a journey of growth and resilience shared between you and your supervisor.
1. Contracting
The supervisor and school staff agree on practices that ensure a safe, ethical, and productive relationship. In each session, staff bring current challenges, questions, or reflections—whether about practice, relationships, or wellbeing.
2. Exploration & Reflection
Together, supervisor and school staff explore these topics deeply, drawing on experience, values, and emotions to uncover insights and new perspectives.
3. Support & Challenge
The supervisor offers both encouragement and thoughtful challenge, helping the educator build resilience, sharpen skills, and expand understanding.
4. Containment & Growth
The session provides a holding space to process emotions and experiences, offering containment and safety that nurture personal and professional growth—whether or not specific actions emerge.
